A sect of Rajputs found principally in Pargana
Haveli of Benares. They claim to take their name from the Rishi
Aguatya,who appears to have been one of the early Brthman mission-
aries to the country south of the Vindhya range, which he is said to
have ordered to prostrate themselves before him.
