=Bagherhat Village= &lt;br /&gt;

Head-quarters of the subdivision of the &lt;br /&gt;
same name in Khulna District, Bengal, situated in 22 40' N. and &lt;br /&gt;
89 47' E., on the Bhairab river. Population (1901), 1,124. I n tne &lt;br /&gt;
neighbourhood are the ruins of several buildings left by Khanja All, &lt;br /&gt;
the pioneer settler in the Sundarbans (see Khulna District), including &lt;br /&gt;
a brick-built road from the bank of the Bhairab, a large hall known as &lt;br /&gt;
the Shat Gumbaz, and the mausoleum of Khanja All. There is a large &lt;br /&gt;
bi-weekly market, and an annual fair lasting for a month is held on the &lt;br /&gt;
occasion of the Sripanchaml. The village contains the usual public &lt;br /&gt;
offices, a sub-jail with accommodation for 35 prisoners, and a Govern- &lt;br /&gt;
