=Bansdih Town=
Head-quarters of the tahsil of the same name in
Ballia District, United Provinces, situated in 25°53 r N. and 84 14' E.,
10 miles north of Ballia town. Population (1901), 10,024. The town
formerly belonged to Naraulia Rajputs, whose possessions have been
bought up by the Bhuinhars. It is administered under Act XX of
1856, with an income of about Rs. 1,200. Besides the ordinary offices,
Bansdih contains a dispensary and a town school with 84 pupils.
There is little or no trade.
