=Brahmanbaria Subdivision=&lt;br /&gt;
Subdivision in the north of Tippera &lt;br /&gt;
District, Eastern Bengal and Assam, lying between 23° 36' and &lt;br /&gt;
24° 16' N. and 90° 43' and 91'' 20' E., with an area of 769 square &lt;br /&gt;
miles. The subdivision is an alluvial tract, laid out for the most part &lt;br /&gt;
in well-cultivated fields ; but to the east the country is more undulating, &lt;br /&gt;
and contains a number of low hills covered with scrub-wood. In 1901 &lt;br /&gt;
the population was 677,084, compared with 590,097 in 1891. The &lt;br /&gt;
density was 880 persons per square mile, which exceeds the average &lt;br /&gt;
for the District. The subdivision contains one town, Brahmanbaria &lt;br /&gt;
(19,915), the head-quarters; and 1,319 villages.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
