		+	New Delhi : At IIT Delhi’s Research & Innovation Park, the 5th-anniversary exhibition of the I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC) offered a panoramic glimpse into India’s deep-tech future.
		+
		+	As the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) of IIT Delhi, IHFC brought 25 cutting-edge technologies under one roof, spanning the entire innovation journey from pre-seed mentoring to incubation and acceleration.
		+	For five years, IHFC was nurturing cobotics and deeptech innovation. This showcase highlighted not just machines, but possibilities.

		+	The first to draw attention was Arka Aerospace with its Universal Kinetic Interceptor drone. CEO Suraj explained the problem it addresses: “During Operation Sindoor, missiles were even used to down drones, which was very expensive for India. After that, to bring down drones at a lower cost, we developed interceptor drones using new techniques.”

		+	According to the company, up to sixty-four such drones can be released together to neutralise a single hostile unit.  From defence to entertainment, the display moved seamlessly. BotLabs Dynamics, known for its drone light shows, highlighted indigenously designed systems behind its fleet. Business head Pranav Virmani said, “The highlight is that everything in this drone is made in India… In your phone, you use GPS. Your GPS accuracy is up to 6 metres. For our drone, it is 30 to 40 centimetres. These are the most accurate drones in the country.” With a fleet of nearly 16,000, BotLabs has applications ranging from aerial shows to disposable surveillance.

		+	Search and rescue was represented by COBRA (Collapsed Building Search Assistive Robot). A compact, snake-like device, COBRA is designed to navigate debris and confined spaces during disasters. Founder and CEO of DTech, Ranit Chatterjee, said: “Because of its size, it can go into narrow spaces… It uses computer vision to detect humans and can tell whether they are alive or not. It mimics a snake’s motions.”

		+	Amid the exhibition stood Svan, a dog-like inspection robot developed by XTerra Robotics. CEO Aditya Pratap Singh Rajawat described its capabilities: “Svan can navigate around humans and reach areas where humans cannot. With the single press of a button, it can be sent into factory spaces to collect data autonomously, relay it to the central command server, and continuously support plant maintenance as well as the creation of digital twins of the environment.”

		+	Healthcare innovations had a strong presence. Articulus presented its advanced robotic surgical arms, while the ENRICH Prosthetic Arm stood as a breakthrough product for amputees. Kaere showcased a breath analyser that can monitor glucose levels in diabetics without invasive pricking. Also on display was a machine for orthopaedic surgeons, capable of automatically bending surgical plates with precision derived from CT scans. Another aisle featured Neurodrishti Glasses, AI-powered assistive eyewear for the impaired.

		+	Data intelligence found a place through Pixuate, which showcased its video analytics platform for highways, smart cities, and retail. Co-founder and CEO Akshata Kari said, “We can analyse and tell what is happening. For traffic management, for instance, it will capture every event where somebody is not wearing a seat belt. In India, we are working with Decathlon… where we are giving them real-time footfall walk-in count.”

		+	Even agriculture and ecology had representation. Red Mountain Soil Pvt Ltd displayed smart bee boxes made of all-weather bamboo. Director Srujan Kotum explained: “We’re solving a 150-year-old problem for India. The old bee boxes are poorly designed. These are scientific bee boxes and we are using a bit of AI and robotics to make them more effective, so that the bees stay healthy and the production grows.”

		+	Closing the circle of human-machine integration, Exobot Dynamics presented its Bionic Lens. Founder Munish Kumar explained: “You can wear this device and it captures your muscle activity and then converts it into different movements.”
		+	Professor Rangan Banerjee, director of IIT Delhi, said, "We have established 10 co-innovation partners and have supported innovative products in drones, strategic sector applications, medical cobotics, and agriculture". Professor S K Saha, project director at IHFC, said, “IHFC was focused on creating indigenous technologies that make an impact.”

		+	CEO Ashutosh Dutt Sharma said: “It requires an ecosystem to nurture innovation. Today, if somebody innovates, they may know the technology. But if you ask them to sell this in the market, they would not be the best people to do it.”

−	New Delhi : In a significant advancement in quantum technology, researchers have achieved free-space quantum secure communication across a distance exceeding 1km at IIT Delhi, managing to transmit highly secure messages through open air without using cables or wires.
