Population <br /> (1901), 4,877. Jhalida was constituted a municipality in 1888. The <br /> income and expenditure during the decade ending 190 1-2 averaged <br /> , Rs. 3,000. In 1903-4 the income was Rs. 3,700, mainly from a tax on <br /> persons (or property tax) ; and the expenditure was Rs. 3,400. Jhalida <br /> is a centre of the lac and cutlery industries.</div>
