Eastern subdivision of Rajshahi District, &lt;br /&gt;
Eastern Bengal and Assam, lying between 24° 1' and 24° 48' N. and &lt;br /&gt;
88° 51'' and 89° 21' E., with an area of 816 square miles. The popula- &lt;br /&gt;
tion was 422,399 in 1901, compared with 443,511 in 1891, the density &lt;br /&gt;
being 518 persons per square mile. It contains one town, Nator &lt;br /&gt;
(population, 8,654), the head-quarters; and 1,727 villages. With the &lt;br /&gt;
exception of the Lalpur thdna, situated on the Padma, most of this &lt;br /&gt;
subdivision is a swampy depression, waterlogged and abounding in &lt;br /&gt;
marshes, the largest of which is the great Chalan Bil.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
