=Rabupura=&lt;br /&gt;
Town in the Khurja tahsil of Bulandshahr District, &lt;br /&gt;
United Provinces, situated in 28 15' N. and 77 37' K, 19 miles west &lt;br /&gt;
of Bulandshahr town. Population (1901), 5,048. The place was &lt;br /&gt;
founded by a Mewatl named Rabu in the eleventh century. The &lt;br /&gt;
Mewatls were ousted by the Jaiswar Rajputs in the time of Prithwl &lt;br /&gt;
Raj, late in the twelfth century. From the days of Shah Alam II &lt;br /&gt;
up to 1857, Rabupura was the centre of an estate comprising 24 vil- &lt;br /&gt;
lages, which was confiscated after the Mutiny for the rebellion of the &lt;br /&gt;
proprietors. The town contains a good brick market, and half the &lt;br /&gt;
houses and shops are also of brick. The American Methodist Mission &lt;br /&gt;
has a branch here, with a small church and dispensary. Rabupura is &lt;br /&gt;
administered under Act XX of 1856, with an income of about Rs. 1,300. &lt;br /&gt;
There is a considerable trade in cattle. The primary school contains &lt;br /&gt;
