[https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/patna/bihar-cm-inaugurates-indias-largest-rubber-dam/articleshow/94085889.cms Alok Kumar, Sep 9, 2022: ''The Times of India'']

GAYA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the country’s largest rubber dam and a steel bridge over the Falgu river near Vishnupad temple.

The CM performed puja in the water of the dam and offered prayers to Goddess Sita. According to mythology, she had cursed Falgu to remain a subterranean river.

“Gaya is the land of salvation (moksha). Lakhs of pilgrims from across the country and abroad come to Gaya to perform ‘pindadaan’ rituals. It was necessary to improve facilities for the pilgrims who come to Gaya throughout the year. Apart from the rubber dam, a foot overbridge has also been made for the pilgrims to go to Sitakund on the other side of the Falgu river. In a bid to maintain purity of the water available in the dam, a separate drain has been constructed to stop flowing of dirty water,” he said.
