It had also directed DDA to take appropriate steps against those private schools who violate the stipulation regarding fee hike in the letter of allotment.“It is clear that schools cannot indulge in profiteering and commercialisation of school education. The quantum of fees to be charged by unaided schools is subject to regulation by DoE under Delhi Schools Education Act of 1973. DoE is competent to interfere if hike in fees by a particular school is found to be excessive and perceived as indulging in profiteering,” the court had said in its order. The judgment had come on a PIL filed by an NGO, Justice for All, which had sought that recognised private unaided schools on land allotted by DDA be directed to abide by the stipulation in the letter of allotment to take prior sanction of DoE before hiking their fees.</ins></div></td></tr>

Of the 1,16,149 students who were unable to pass Class IX, under 4,100 enrolled in the patrachar (correspondence) system in 2018-19. They think that putting children in private schools will strengthen their foundation. But as the children move forward, the fees increase and parents are not able to afford it. So, they move them to government schools for free education.”</ins></div></td></tr>
