=Supaul Subdivision, 1908=&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Northern subdivision of Bhagalpur District, &lt;br /&gt;
Bengal, lying between 25° 59' and 26° 34' N. and 86° 24° and 87° 8' E., &lt;br /&gt;
with an area of 934 square miles. The subdivision is a continuation of &lt;br /&gt;
the great alluvial plain of North Bihar, its northern frontier consisting &lt;br /&gt;
of the marshy submontane tract known as the tarai. The population &lt;br /&gt;
in 1901 was 510,900, compared with 481,562 in 1891. It contains &lt;br /&gt;
482 villages, of which Supaul is the head-quarters ; but no town. &lt;br /&gt;
The subdivision is the most progressive part of the District and, after &lt;br /&gt;
the head-quarters subdivision, the most thickly populated, the density &lt;br /&gt;
