=Surat Agency=&lt;br /&gt;

A small group of Native States in Bombay, &lt;br /&gt;
under the superintendence of the Political Agent, Surat, with an area &lt;br /&gt;
of 1,960 square miles, consisting of the SidT (Musalman) principality &lt;br /&gt;
of Sachin, which comprises a number of isolated tracts within the &lt;br /&gt;
British District of Surat ; the estates of the Rajas of Bansda and &lt;br /&gt;
Dharampur, situated in the hilly tracts between the Districts of &lt;br /&gt;
Khandesh, Nasik, Thana, and Surat ; and a tract known as the Dangs &lt;br /&gt;
recently added to the Agency. Population (1901), 179,975. The &lt;br /&gt;
Agency contains 2 towns and 644 villages. Hindus number 173,613 &lt;br /&gt;
and Muhammadans 5,537. The aggregate revenue of the States in &lt;br /&gt;
