==Madhyarjunam==&lt;br /&gt;

Town in the Kumba- &lt;br /&gt;
konam taluk of Tanjore District, Madras, situated in 11° N. and &lt;br /&gt;
79° 27' E., on the Virasolanar river, with a station on the main line &lt;br /&gt;
of the South Indian Railway. Population (1901), 11,237. It contains &lt;br /&gt;
a very old well-sculptured Siva temple, which is of considerable size &lt;br /&gt;
and has a fine gopuram or tower. In this are a large number of Chola &lt;br /&gt;
inscriptions and two grants of the Vijayanagar dynasty. The family &lt;br /&gt;
of Amar Singh, who was deposed from the throne of Tanjore in 1798, &lt;br /&gt;
resides here. It is the head-quarters of a deputy-tahslidar.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
