Mallika was married before joining the films: The acting bug inside Mallika was so strong that even a wedding bond seemed like it was binding her [keeping her back]. Mallika Sherawat, who was originally named Reema Lamba was an air hostess. She tied the knot with Delhi based pilot Karan Singh Gill but her independent outlook and Bollywood aspirations remained her priority. Mallika eventually divorced her husband and came to the industry as a single unmarried woman. Mallika locked lips with heartthrob Himanshu Malik 17 times in the movie Khwahish. Her bold portrayal of sexuality and sexual desires was both appreciated and criticised. It was reported that the actress apparently asked for a huge amount for Himesh Reshammiya's 'Aap Ka Suroor'. According to media reports, the actress apparently had asked for a whopping 1.5 crore to act in the movie. Considering she only had a ten minute role, she actually asked for 15 lakhs per minute.
