B'day Special: Roles we loved Juhi in The Times of India
The most memorable role we remember the bubbly Juhi Chawla for is that of a rebel South Indian daughter Vaijanti Iyer in Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke. No one else could have got the character right as Juhi did. Even today her role stands out in the movie.
If ever an ideal Indian woman in her adolescence came to life, it could be none other than Rashmi from Qayamat se Qayamat Tak. Her innocence, dedication to love a man to eternity and shy nature still takes our breath away.
Reema Mathur from Aaina defined the average Indian girl, who is also a dedicated younger sister. Juhi played the role with great conviction. Even when her demure character turns into a strong woman, we love to stand by her!
A village girl falls in love with a Sehri Babu and lands in Mumbai to find him when he does not return to her. She learns speaking English and can also dress in style to get the goons! It might sound cliche but when we see Juhi Chawla in Bol Radha Bol, we love her innocence and vibrance both. Indeed one of her best roles!
A smart, beautiful and witty journo who have the guts to change the face of the nation but at the same time loves like any other girls, Ria Banerjee from Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani is just too adorable.
Anybody could have gone mad like Shah Rukh Khan for a woman like Kiran (Juhi Chawla) in Darr. Juhi looked spectacular in the movie.
As Juhi grew in her career and age, she very well understood the need to do serious roles. Chandrika from 3 Deewarein touched our hearts deeply and we found a new Juhi Chawla on screen.
My brother Nikhil was a revolution in the world of cinema and Juhi Chawal essayed the role of a warm grief-stricken sister so well, that it gave new ways for older actresses to seek scripts.
The gorgeous and witty Dr. Neha Sharma from Deewana Mastana is truly unforgettable. Juhi again brought lot of vibrancy on screen playing the love interest of Govinda and Anil Kapoor but who finally marries Salman Khan.
