Manipur: Fashion

Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. In Manipur, modern fashion is always about creating a balance between traditional handloom & foreign fabrics.

The native fabrics are rich and showcase the traditional values passed down over generations. Many native fashion designers and models have made their place in the international arena. Mention may be made of Devson Yengkhom, Premjit Lal Salam, Lin Laishram, Sangreela Maisnam, Nirmal Kangjam, Pratima Thokchom.
