The Vitthal Birdev Yatra, celebrated by the shepherd community in Kolhapur’s Pattan-Kodoli village, is also known as ‘Yellow Festival of India’. The vibrant yatra attracts photographers from across India and the world. The main day of the yatra 2024, lakhs of shepherd community members gathered at this village to witness the ‘hedam’ dance and throw bhandara powder (yellow resembling turmeric) in the air.
