Petty State in the Khasi Hills, Eastern Bengal and Assam. The population in 1901 was 1,138, and the gross revenue in 1903-4 was Rs. 2,050. The principal products are rice and millet. Deposits of coal and lime have been found in the State, but only the latter is worked.
