Village in the Arambagh subdivision of Hooghly Dis- trict, Bengal, situated in 22 degree 43' N. and 87 degree 52' E., on the west bank of the Kana Nadl. Population (1901), 886. There is some trade in brass-ware, and cotton fabrics of a superior quality are manufactured in the neighbourhood. Vegetables are extensively grown for the Calcutta market. A large temple to Siva stands on the river bank.
