Zamindari tahsil in North Arcot District, Madras, consisting of the southern half of the Karvetnagar zamin- dari. Area, 401 square miles; population in 1901, 171,005, com- pared with 173,151 in 1891 ; number of villages, 327; head-quarters, Tiruttani.
