Labour minister Shibu Baby John owns Kerala Sea Foods, an export firm in Kollam. It has clients in Europe and the Middle East. Though close relatives take care of the business now, sources say the reins are still with John, a full-time businessman before he entered politics on the death of his father Baby John, also a wellknown minister. His declared assets in 2011 were to the tune of Rs 4.50 crore. The affidavit was quiet on his business venture. Muneer, on the other hand, is chairman of a leading Malayalam news channel, Indiavision TV, and has over 40% stake in the company. A few days before he was sworn in as minister in 2012, he transferred the shares to family members.
