Career
‘Mazid ka’ was an illustrious Indian film actor, director and writer from and based in Assam.
He began his career in theatre in 1950, in Jorhat, and acted in more than 200 plays.

Chameli Memsaab 1975. This was Mazid ka’s most celebrated film. At the National Film Awards the film won the Rajat Kamal for being the best Assamese film of the year, and its music director Bhupen Hazarika was judged the country’s

Won the best Director Award for the year 1988-1992 for the Assamese TV serial “Namghariya”, by Silpi Divas Samiti.
Bishnu Prasad Rabha Award For the year 1986, by Govt. of Assam.
Natsurya Award in1999.
Assam Sahitya award from the Assam Tribune group.
