February 20, 2018: The Times of India


Set a new national record in the boys’ 1500m freestyle at the 29th Sub Junior National Aquatic Championships in Rajkot. The Mumbai youngster clocked 2:14:75 to erase Yudhishtar Jaisingh’s 2007 record of 2:15:58. Aryan also bagged gold in the 100m freestyle and silver in the 100m butterfly and 200m individual medley events. At the South African Junior Nationals, he won three medals - gold in the 1500m and 400m freestyle and silver in the 200m freestyle. His time of 15:21:99 in the 1500m beat the previous Indian national record held by Sanu Debnath.
