Mallika was married before joining the films: The acting bug inside Mallika was so strong that even a wedding bond seemed like it was binding her [keeping her back]. Mallika Sherawat, who was originally named Reema Lamba was an air hostess. She tied the knot with Delhi based pilot Karan Singh Gill but her independent outlook and Bollywood aspirations remained her priority. Mallika eventually divorced her husband and came to the industry as a single unmarried woman. Mallika Sherawat's mother-in-law also came out in the open and spoke about how her aspirations were different from the needs of a family.
17 Kisses in Khwahish: The actress broke all stereotypes in Bollywood and emerged as the first and only actress to lock lips in a single movie for 17 times. Mallika locked lips with heartthrob Himanshu Malik 17 times in the movie Khwahish. Her bold portrayal of sexuality and sexual desires was both appreciated and criticised. The sex siren rocked the headlines for months after the movie. On being asked if she enjoyed the kiss she said, "If men can, why can't a woman?"
BPL ad with Amitabh Bachchan: This ad was Mallika Sherawat's first onscreen outing. Clad in a lose fitting track suit, the actress was far from her sex symbol image in the advertisement. Mallika made a brief appearance in this one minute ad of BPL mobile. Though the ad was shelved but this did not deter Mallika Sherawat's spirit. It was reported that the actress apparently asked for a huge amount for Himesh Reshammiya's 'Aap Ka Suroor'. According to media reports, the actress apparently had asked for a whopping 1.5 crore to act in the movie. Considering she only had a ten minute role, she actually asked for 15 lakhs per minute. Now that's a price even B- town hotties would think twice before asking.
