Jatoi
Village in the Alipur tahsil of Muzaffargarh District, Punjab, situated in 29 degree 31' N. and 70 degree 51' E., n miles north-west of Alipur town. Population (1901), 4,748. Local tradition attributes its foun- dation to Mir Bajar Khan, in the days of the emperor Babar. The Indus washed away the original town at the close of the last century, but it was shortly afterwards rebuilt on the present site. Jatoi was for some time subordinate to Bahawalpur, but was annexed by Diwan Sawan Mai. In the war against Mulraj, the Jatoi people threw off the Sikh rule, and rendered good service.
