Kakora

Village in the District and tahsil of Budaun, United Provinces, situated in 27 degree 53' N. and 79 degree 3' E., near the bank of the Ganges, 12 miles south-west of Budaun town. Population (1901), 2,941. The place is noted for a religious and trading fair held at the full moon of Kartik (October-November), which is attended by as many as 100,000 to 200,000 persons, who come from all parts of Rohii- khand, as well as from Delhi, Muttra, and Cawnpore. The principal object is bathing, but a good deal of trade is carried on in cloth, metal goods, leather, and cattle. The actual site of the fair varies within a few miles according to the movements of the river.
