Podanur
Podanur, 1908
Village in the District and taluk of Coimbatore, Madras, situated in 10degree 58' N. and 77 o' E., 4 miles from Coim- batore city. Population (1901), 6,568. It is the junction of the Nilgiri branch of the Madras Railway with the main line, and the site of considerable railway workshops. It enjoys a cool and healthy climate. A sugar manufactory has recently been opened.
