Hingoli Taluk
North-eastern taluk of Parbhani District, Hyder- abad State, with an area of 713 square miles. Including y^Jr^, the population in 1901 was 85,071, compared with 108,153 in 1891, the decrease being due to the famine of 1900. The taluk contains one town, Hingoli (population, 17,256), the head-quarters; and 209 villages, of which 19 Sirejagir. The land revenue in 1901 was 1-9 lakhs. The Penganga river separates it on the north and north-east from the Basim District of Berar. The soils are mainly regar and alluvial.
