Jelep La

Pass in the Chola range of the Himalayas, situated in 27 degree 22' N. and 88° 53' E., leading from Sikkim State, Bengal, into the Chumbi valley of Tibet. Height, 14,390 feet above sea-level. The Jelep pass forms the principal route by which Tibetan trade enters British India, and carries about half of the total registered trade be- tween India and Tibet
