Jhalod
Town in the petty division (petha) of the same name in the Dohad taluka of the Panch Mahals District, Bombay, situated in 23°6’ N. and 74 9' E. Population (1901), 5,917. The inhabitants are mostly Bhils, Ghanchis, and Kunbls. There is an export trade in grain, pottery, cotton cloth, and lac bracelets in imitation of the costly ivory Ratlam bracelets. Flagstone is also exported in large quantities. The town contains a dispensary and six schools, four for boys and two for girls, attended by 223 and 88 pupils respectively.
