Lakhsetipet

Taluk in Adilabad District, Hyderabad State, with an area of 499 square miles. The population in 1901, including jaglrs, was 50,835, compared with 52,589 in 1891, the decrease being due to famine and cholera. The taluk contains 123 villages, of which 9 -axQ. jdglr; and Lakhsetipet (population, 1,438), on the left bank of the Godavari is the head-quarters. The land revenue in 1901 was Rs. 69,000. Extensive rice cultivation is carried on with irrigation from tanks and wells.
