= Literally a native of Malwa or Marwar. Most of the Marwaris found in Bengal are bankers and traders, usually Jain. . The name gives no definite indication of caste, but it will be found as a rule that a Marwari belongs to the Agarwal, Oswal, Muheswari, or Srimal castes. In fact all traders from Rajputaua and the neighbouring districts are commonly called Marwaris.
