Murghi-Walah, Murgh-Ban

All Muhammadans keep domestic fowls, but no Hindu, unless of the very lowest caste, will do so. The Murghi-walah buys fowls, geese, and ducks at village fairs, and, when fattened, sells them in the towns. Muhammadans, again, are the only natives who make capons (Khaciya), hence the Hindus nickname such persons Mas-Kata, flesh-cutters, a name also applied to the Hajjam.
