Parvatipuram Town

Head-quarters of the subdivision and tahsil of the same name in Vizagapatam District, Madras, lying in 1 8 47' N. and 83 26' E. Population (1901), 17,308. An Assistant Superintendent of police and a police reserve are stationed here. Lying at the junction of roads from Bengal, Jeypore, Palkonda, and Vizianagram, Parvatipuram is a rapidly growing centre of trade between the hills and the low country.
