An endogamous division of the Rarhi Brahmans in Bengal. The popular story of the origin of this group is tbat their ancestor was degraded for having accidentally smelled food wbich had been prepared in the bouse of a Mabomedan. They are held in the same estimation among Rarbis as Panch urias among Barendras.
