Quilandi
Seaport in the Kurumbranad taluk of Malabar Dis- trict, Madras, situated in 11 27 / N. and 75 42' E. Population (1901), 5,870, It contains a sub-magistrate's and a District Munsifs court. It was close to this place that Vasco da Gama's fleet first cast anchor in 1498.
