She lost her father in an accident and was put in an orphanage in Chennai. Later, she was shifted to another orphanage closer to her village near Visakhapatnam so that her mother could visit her.


“One day, I received a call from a coach in Vizag. When he told me about Swathi, I asked him to send her here. She is quite a talented athlete,” coach Nagpuri Ramesh said. Swathi is delighted with the turn of events. “I thank all these people for shaping my life. I started at an orphanage and am now at a top academy, trained by the best coaches. What more can I ask for,” she said.
