Sathalli

Village in the Hassan taluk of Hassan District, Mysore, situated 10 miles south-west of Hassan town. Population (1901), 105. It is of interest as the centre of a Christian agricultural community, which had its origin in the labours of the well-known Abbe Dubois. There is a group of twelve villages, almost entirely inhabited by Christians, who follow their original customs in all matters not con- cerned with religion.
