Shahpur Taluk
Taluk in Gulbarga District, Hyderabad State, with an area of 585 square miles, including/^?. The population in 1901 was 104,274, compared with 93,210 in 1891. It contains one town, SAGAR (population, 5,445), and 150 villages, of which 40 are jagir. Shahpur (population, 3,251) is the head-quarters. The Bhima flows along the south-east border. The land revenue in 1901 amounted to 1-7 lakhs. The soil is chiefly of the black cotton description.
