Town in the head-quarters subdivision of Monghyr District, Bengal, situated in 25 degree 8' N. and 85 degree 51' E. Population (1901), 10,135. It is on tne South Bihar Railway and is an important centre of the grain trade. Tubes for hukkas are manufactured.
