Sirpur Taluk

Taluk in Adilabad District, Hyderabad State, with an area of 2,214 square miles. The population in 1901, including iagtrs, was 135,694, compared with 106,745 in 1891. The taluk contains 435 villages, of which 49 are jagir^ and Sirpur (population, 3,134) is its head-quarters. The land revenue in 1901 was Rs. 81,800. In 1905 part of this taluk was transferred to form the new taluk of Jangaon. It is very sparsely populated, and contains a large extent of cultivable waste and forests.
