Sompeta Town
Head-quarters of the Sompeta zaniinddri tahsil in Ganjam District, Madras, and of a District Munsif, situated in 18° 56' N. and 84° 36' E., near the trunk road from Madras to Cal- cutta, with which it is connected by a road 2 miles in length. Popula- tion (1901), 6,455.
