Suhma
Ancient kingdom of Bengal, comprising the modern Districts of Midnapore and Howrah. The earliest rulers belonged to the Peacock dynasty of Rajputs, who were supplanted by Kaibarttas. The capital was at Tamluk, a famous port of ancient times and a great stronghold of Buddhism.
